National Gathering of Elders Kanata

Calling all Elders living on or off Traditional Territory! Do you want to attend the National Gathering of Elders Kanata this Fall? Taking place in Edmonton, Alberta from October 30th to November 2nd. 🙌🏽

The CJJC Elders Support Program has 10 spots for Elders living on or off Traditional Territory to attend.
.
Who should attend the gathering? TH Elders (55+) who want to contribute to:
.
👨‍🎓Building and strengthening the gap of education between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.
.
🌍 Promoting environmental responsibility and sustainability through cultural knowledge.
.
🏫 Working with schools and universities to build a bridge on knowledge on the importance of Indigenous knowledge.
.
👐🏼 Creating recommendations on cultural preservation for the purposes of promoting positive mental health and belonging.
.
❤ Discussion of traditional knowledge frameworks.
.
All TH Elders who are interested in attending should reach out to the CJJC Elders Support Staff by September 13th.
.
If they have more than 10 Elders interested in attending, they will perform a random draw on September 15th, live on the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Wellness – Chief John Jonas Centre Facebook page.
