The Public Health Agency of Canada is working closely with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health to help ensure that people in Canada are able to call and text 9-8-8, a new three-digit number for suicide prevention support from anywhere across Canada, at any time of day or night.
Beginning November 30, 2023, 9-8-8: Suicide Crisis Helpline will offer 24/7/365, bilingual, trauma-informed, and culturally appropriate support through trained responders. Together, we can raise awareness of this new service that makes it simple for people to access the help they need, when they need it the most.
