Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in has filed its submission on proposed modifications to the Dawson Regional Plan Planning Commission

In April of this year, Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in filed its submission to the Dawson Regional Plan Planning Commission regarding its Recommended Plan (the Plan) for the Dawson region.

Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in would like to thank the Commission for its hard work. We believe the Plan honours the spirit and intent of our Final Agreement and fulfills important objectives under Chapter 11. We wish to emphasize that we generally support most of the Plan, however, our submission of proposed modifications highlights areas in which the Plan can be improved upon in order to better protect the irreplaceable cultural and environmental values within the Dawson planning region.

We look forward to working with our planning partner, Yukon Government, and with the Dawson Regional Planning Commission, as we proceed towards a Final Recommended Plan.

Mähsį’ cho to the numerous Citizens who have shared their knowledge and experience on the land throughout this process, and who continue to lend their voices to this important endeavour. We cannot accomplish the objectives of Chapter 11 without you.
