We are pleased to announce that the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Youth Services will be offering the Shin Hä̀hjä̀k Summer Camp program this summer.
The Shin Hä̀hjä̀k program is for youth aged 8 to 12. Similar to our other programs, it is filled with activities and opportunities to empower youth, build valuable life skills, and develop leadership abilities. Some activities that we hope to do include berry picking, traditional crafts, hand games, fishing, rafting, swimming, wilderness skill building, and more! There will also be field trips throughout the summer, and parents/guardians will be given additional information prior to these trips. In addition to programming, a healthy lunch will be provided for your child each session.
The Shin Hä̀hjä̀k program will run Monday to Friday from 11:00-3:00pm June 26th- August 18th. Our program leaders will meet youth at Kʼäjìt-in zho (Youth House) at 11:00 am. Pick-ups will be from the same location at 3:00 pm. While pick-ups and drop-offs are at Kʼäjìt-in zho (Youth House), programming may take place around town.
This program is offered free of charge for all Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in families. Please complete the attached registration forms and return it to the Chief John Jonas Centre by Friday June 23th. Space is limited so we encourage you to get your forms in as soon as possible. Signed forms can also be emailed to the address below. Please feel free to contact me if you would like more information about the Shin Hä̀hjä̀k program. We look forward to hearing from you, and to welcoming your child this summer!
