Day of Truth and Reconciliation

National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, September 30th
.
Impact: Like a tsunami of trauma that raged and crashed on to our people, we are still greatly impacted by the aftershocks of colonization and residential schools.
.
Truth: There is great and unbound power in the truth.
.
Reconciliation: We grow in strength and resilience when we return to our long ago (Dänojà) sacred ways and guiding values (Tr’ëhudè). We build healthy relationships with people, the land and our close animal relatives.
.
Freedom: We take comfort in healing with heritage, culture, our language (Hän Hënjìk) and our land (Ninänkäk).

Please join us in honouring our Survivors and the Lost Children on September 30th, 2023 at 11am, at Dänojà Zho and Äłät Nëhëjël.
.
We will tie orange ribbons to honour the children, holding a sacred fire (with the other First Nations across the Yukon Territory), sharing a community meal with prayers and words spoken, and there will be emotional supports available. The Hän singers and dancers will also be with us.
