Moosehide Gathering 2024

Welcome to our Traditional Territory

Welcome to Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Traditional Territory and the 2024 Moosehide Gathering—our 16th Gathering since 1993. Moosehide Gathering is time to reconnect with family and friends and to share our language, culture, and traditions. Moosehide Village has been a special place for Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in for millennia. Here, our people have hosted potlaches to honor people and significant events, celebrating with songs, dancing, drumming, and feasts provided by the bounty of our land. On the banks of the (Yukon River) we gather at Moosehide to keep the spirit of our ancestors alive and give thanks to our Elders for protecting and teaching our traditions. We also extend a strong mähsi cho to our Alaska relatives for all their support throughout the years, and to our youth leaders, who will keep our traditions alive for generations yet to come. On behalf of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Council and all Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in citizens, I welcome you to Moosehide. Please join in the workshops, music, and feasts offered throughout the weekend. Have fun and take care of each other and the land.

Nëkhwetr’ënòh-’ąy gha shò tr’ìnląy. K’ä̀ nä̀ cha. We are happy to see you. Take good care.

Hähkè Darren Taylor.
