The Finance department plays a crucial role in administering financial responsibilities of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in, handling payments, invoicing, rent charges, payment recording, and payroll processing.
Finance also maintains contribution and Financial Transfer Agreements, working with funding-receiving departments to incorporate proposal funding into the budget or establish new programs. Finance is responsible for monitoring agreement terms, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
The department adheres to generally accepted accounting principles and oversees the operation of the CMHC housing program, annual budgeting processes, and the planning of capital projects in collaboration with the Department of Housing and Infrastructure. Finance ensures the accurate and timely processing of financial data for all other departments, providing them with monthly updates on their respective finances.
