Committees play a vital role in the functioning of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in governance and are comprised of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in citizens appointed by Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Council.
Citizen participation on boards and committees is vital to ensuring Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in values are represented and reflected both within Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in government and in the decisions made by community and government partners. Citizens who serve on boards and committees are compensated for their time. Each committee and board has its own of Terms of Agreement which prescribes rules or order, meeting frequency, number of members, and term limits.
